The former Regent Cinema. The rather nondescript façade has given way to this tasteless monstrosity and the films have long gone. Who could believe that this was the scene of what seemed at the time to be great adventures?

The former Ritz Cinema. What was the most elegant cinema in town is no longer.

The former Picture House and later the Essoldo Cinema is now the Picture House again and still shows films thanks to a film enthusiast who runs 4 or 5 local cinemas in West Yorks, including the excellent Cottage Road Cinema three minutes walk from where I live in Leeds. By the way, what does “essoldo” mean?
