When Watthey took over the reins at KBGS he upped the number of Prefects from 8 to 15 and introduced a more democratic selection process - which no-one ever oversaw. All the 6th form were allowed to make suggestions; as were the teaching staff and eventually a "select"ed group were appointed to undertake duties supervising the rest of the school. This group is the first of Watthey's prefects and were photographed in a local studio in July 1959.
